REFLECT
Objective:
Meaningful and informed participation of the marginalised, especially women and youth, in community development and land reform initiatives.

REFLECT:
is a method of facilitating adult education. It is based on a facilitator using participatory methods to facilitate a twice weekly learning group. The discussions are on development issues and numeracy and literacy lessons are built around these subjects which are of importance to the participants. The method aims to involve people in moving from discussing and understanding issues into taking actions to address the issues. Nkuzi is using it as an ongoing education process targeting marginalised sectors of land reform communities.

The project aims to have at least 150 learners involved most of them women and an increasing number of youth.

Main Activities:
  • Amend approach in light of findings of mid-term review of the project
  • Ongoing support and monitoring for existing and new REFLECT circles
  • Conduct training for new facilitators and refresher training for existing facilitators
  • Develop new learning units
  • Conduct needs assessment in targeted area and introduce the project to targeted communities
  • Identify new REFLECT facilitators and train them on the reflect methodology
  • Provide after care support for participants
  • <
  • Target youth in the establishment of new learning circles, including the creation of some circles with a specific youth focus
  • Organise an evaluation for the end of the REFLECT pilot programme
