REFLECT
Objective:
Meaningful and informed participation
of the marginalised, especially women and youth, in community development
and land reform initiatives.
REFLECT:is a method of facilitating
adult education. It is based on a facilitator using participatory
methods to facilitate a twice weekly learning group. The discussions
are on development issues and numeracy and literacy lessons are built
around these subjects which are of importance to the participants.
The method aims to involve people in moving from discussing and understanding
issues into taking actions to address the issues. Nkuzi is using it
as an ongoing education process targeting marginalised sectors of
land reform communities.
The project aims to have at
least 150 learners involved most of them women and an increasing number
of youth.
Main Activities:
- Amend approach in light of findings
of mid-term review of the project
- Ongoing support and monitoring
for existing and new REFLECT circles
- Conduct training for new facilitators
and refresher training for existing facilitators
- Develop new learning units
- Conduct needs assessment in targeted
area and introduce the project to targeted communities
- Identify new REFLECT facilitators
and train them on the reflect methodology
- Provide after care support for
participants

- Target youth in the establishment
of new learning circles, including the creation of some circles
with a specific youth focus
- Organise an evaluation for the
end of the REFLECT pilot programme
